Beg Beg Beg to differ Cliff.... The quirkiness of "The Host" made it compelling and the ending is simultaneously tragic yet uplifting. It is unlikely to be made into a US version. I find the recent Hollywoodizing of Asian horror repugnant and so opportunistic and I worry it subverts Asian film-makers who may have a view of the US market when producing work.
But I respect it's not for everyone.

I didn't really like the rest of the movie. What can I say? Sometimes Asian cinema does it for me, sometimes it doesn't.
.
I wasn't feeling it for "The Host."

When will the world wake up and deal with the mutant fish problem??The whole movie is pretty good. I think they cut some serious gore out of this clip though.
.
BTW. Speaking of abominations in Asian filmmaking, anyone seen that Speilberg and Will Smith want to do an American version of Oldboy? While I'm a fan of those guys, they are far too Hollywood to even attempt to film any of the twisted stuff in that flick. Watered down disaster looms over that one.
