Pimp My Blogroll

An ongoing source of shame in my life is my pathetic blogroll. I did it in like 6 minutes the day the blog went up, because 6 minutes was all I had. And now I can’t change it without the aid of an engineer who has a Ph.D. in astrophysics and mind powers. But I’m going to do it this week. Help? Gimme links: what’s your essential daily reading?

Now back to Watchmen humor:

    Brazil Files Injunction Against Twitter

A request for an injunction to stop Twitter users from alerting drivers to police roadblocks, radar traps and drunk-driving checkpoints could make Brazil the first country to take Twitter up on its plan to censor content at governments’ requests.

Trying to Be Optimistic About a Google Music-Streaming System

The Wall Street Journal’s Amir Efrati and Ethan Smith are reporting that Google is working on a consumer-electronics system designed to stream music–and, eventually, maybe video and other media–around the home. Their story doesn’t have much in the way of detail, but does say that Google’s brainchild might be akin to a lower-cost version of Sonos’s excellent-but-pricey music-streaming products. Absent more details, there are several ways to respond to this sketchy bit of news.

And even though it isn’t animated, you can’t play it, and there’s no associated merchandizing, you could still definately get your ass kicked in school for being a fan of apod (http://antwrp.gsfc.nasa.gov/apod/astropix.html). But there’s like a decade’s worth of archives, with an entry for every day in between. You could lose multiple jobs back to back going through it all.

The Curious Capitalist people are way too cool to be linked to from Nerd World. It’ll just ruin their image.
