Sorry about the low posting rate. I think there must be a 10th muse, a muse of blogging. Her name is Banalia, and she has been idle.

Plus my Killzone 2 saved game got corrupted, and I had to start over. So that happened.

Still, Michael Chabon is apparently working on a screenplay of John Carter of Mars, which suggests that not all light has gone out of the universe.

Will Google’s Insanely-Fast Kansas City Network Shame U.S. ISPs?

Google’s highly-anticipated plan to build an ultra-fast city broadband network kicked into gear Monday with the search giant’s announcement that it will begin laying miles of fiber-optic cable across Kansas City, Kansas and neighboring Kansas City, Missouri. Google said it aims to create a new “high speed infrastructure” that will allow local citizens to enjoy data speeds 100 times the national average. Google’s goal? To show off its telecom engineering chops and showcase next-generation web-applications. Oh, and maybe shame the big national broadband providers into improving U.S. Internet service speed, which currently lags behind many other countries around the world.

@kemper 2) May and July are peak sreen times and hollywood is in love with reduxs/reboots/sequels/spinoffs/adaptations/anime-to-animation/ etc… so deal with it. Your real concern is how many movies out of mainstream film have original scripts, that are not sequels, spin offs, reboot/redux, adaptations of literture of any kind books/comics/graphic novels etc.. That is why every time someone complains that film or internet films are going to kill literture I say “where are they going to get their source material since the best coming out is in written form.”

@lostepic – Thanks for trying to tell me what I was really asking, but I’m pretty sure my real concern was just wondering why all the movies I want to see this summer are coming out in a four week time span regardless of what they’re based on. But thanks for telling me to deal with it. I didn’t realize my idle question was such a burden on other people.
