Japanese call ‘storyboard’ just ‘storyboard,’ or perhaps more commonly, ‘e-conte.’

‘e’ (pronunced not like e of ‘email’ but like that of ‘empty’) means ‘drawing’ in Japanese and ‘conte’ is a loanword abbreviation of ‘continuity.’ So anyway, it is true there is no indigenous word for ‘storyboard’ in Japanese.

Interjections like ‘frak’ are usually translated as ‘kuso,’ which means feces and is used as a slimilar interjection to ‘frak’ or ‘sheesh’ in Japanese.

A lot of English loanwords get phonetic renderings in Japanese. They’ll just sound like heavily accented versions of the original.

So ‘storyboard’ in japanese is ‘storyboard?’

I wonder how they translate ‘frak.’ Do they just use the word, or did they come up with one that’s similar to a japanese word?
