Superman 4 was abysmal. Superman 3 wasn’t much better.

Superman Returns wasn’t perfect, but you had to appreciate Singer’s love for the ’78 film which was present througout. There’s a lot to like about SR, even if it didn’t quite work as a popcorn flick.

While I like Superman Returns, I understand why others didn’t. I think the next Superman movie has to be a little more fun. Superman feeling sorry for himself isn’t the best set up for a movie.

DC had a good thing with the original Superman and Nolan’s Batman movies. I think the Tim Burton Batman films are arguable. Now that they’re tightening things up, like Marvel, we may see some more consistent quality. We’ll see how Jonah Hex comes out. Geoff Johns is now working on The Flash, which is a good thing. For right now, they’re playing catch up.
