On the Greatness of Star Wars Uncut

I’d heard about this, but I never bothered to check it out till I saw the trailer posted on io9:

Never mind that I find the name confusing (was the original version in some sense “cut?”) This is what the Internet is for: to re-enact Star Wars using daleks, whiskey bottles and unicorns (I guess?). I feel like I could keep pounding the “random” button forever. Until my hand became a withered claw.

p.s. I still refuse to say “sweded”

Will Google’s Insanely-Fast Kansas City Network Shame U.S. ISPs?

Google’s highly-anticipated plan to build an ultra-fast city broadband network kicked into gear Monday with the search giant’s announcement that it will begin laying miles of fiber-optic cable across Kansas City, Kansas and neighboring Kansas City, Missouri. Google said it aims to create a new “high speed infrastructure” that will allow local citizens to enjoy data speeds 100 times the national average. Google’s goal? I’m still trying to decide whether it would be too tedious to watch the whole thing or not, although it looks like it has plenty of variety. Almost as good as Star Wreck.

the greatness of it is the fan based collaboration. I had a friend who was in his 20. Yeah remakes have been done before but on just a collaborative scale? no.
