The Winter of Thor. Filming starts in January!

Marvel

Marvel is steamrolling ahead with it’s big-time big-screen adaptation of “Thor,” all eyes fixed on a May 2011 release.

According to Production Weekly, director Kenneth Branagh is set to start filming in Los Angeles in mid-January, before shifting production to Santa Fe, New Mexico for a March-April stint.

Starring Chris Hemsworth as Donald Blake himself – that’s George Kirk, for all your “Star Trek” fans getting excited about tomorrow’s DVD release – Natalie Portman has also been cast to star as Jane Foster. It’s all happening, people!

This is going to be fantastic. Kenneth Branagh directing is pretty incredible.

Also – ANTHONY HOPKINS AS ODIN! (so says IMDB) And are George and Daniel similar to James and Donald?

Who the hell is Daniel Blake??? They’re not pulling a “David Banner” are they? Come on, the guy’s name is Donald Blake!

  • Steven James Snyder

But of course it’s Donald…I blame that typo on a combination of factors: Lack of sleep, lack of coffee, lack of interns. Thanks to jthomann, the error is fixed. Let us never discuss this again.
