And I didn’t think the acting was too terrible, either, considering the strength of the material they had to work with. Movie-Bella is nowhere near as whiny and self-loathing as Book-Bella. Movie-Edward isn’t nearly as creepy as Book-Edward. So, the script was as good as it could be while staying true to the subject matter. I kind of thought that was where the movie failed, and not so much the acting. I mean, how good could we expect it to be, considering? Maybe I just am giving the actors too much of the benefit of the doubt. Garbage in/garbage out, ya know?

They really are pretty awful. However, after Kevin Smith’s Comic-Con address, I see them in a different light. All these screaming 12 year old girls who love vampires will soon be 18 year olds who love vampires – there is a plan and it is working. ;)
