So I Went to Google Yesterday

Over the holiday weekend I found myself in the land of Apple, Google, HP and others. I only managed to run over to Google’s Mountain View campus for a few minutes to meet with a few folks but it was my first visit and I wanted to see a few of the things that I’d read about. Aside from the dinosaur, ball pit and swimming pool, I thought the coolest thing was one of the first server racks used. Apparently, Google was being charged per square foot so they crammed as many hard drives into a rack as possible- 4 per as opposed to 1 lined with cork. Just look at the jumble of wires! I’ll be sure to bring my SLR the next time I visit the land of Google.

It gives you instant karaoke in the privacy of your own home, or wherever you carry your Apple gadgets. That’s the idea, anyway.

That is some cool stuff there. I wish I could see that in person! I’m amazed that they were able to maintain those without a major frustration-enduced meltdown.
