I’m not a fan of Christopher Nolan’s Batman movies. Too long, too earnest, too much jump-cutting. Whatever. Different strokes. But even I have to bow before the anarchic genius of Heath Ledger’s twitchy, ticcy, magnetic performance, which annihilated the cinematic cliches of psychopathic villainy.
