The G4 was the start of something special for Apple’s laptop line. It was an inch thick and came in an aluminum or titanium body. The design was radically different and sexy.

    I agree, love my G4, still have it and use it for video editing and disk burning even though I have upgraded to a Macbook pro, which I love as well.

    Ditto, my G4 is still going strong 10 years later. Passed it along to my grade schooler, after I upped to the MBP. (But only because she outgrew the limited clamshell iMac that I also passed along to her before that.) Most PowerBook owners I know deal with niggling issues, like the gawdawful hinges, and recycle them for use as spare data storage or quick back-up of iTunes libraries. In fact, all my Apple devices are still alive and kicking, even the eMate.
