Today in Techland: Steve chats with the amazing Ethan Hawke about the unwavering awesomeness of Gattaca, Gary brought us the new trailer from BioShock 2, and Peter and I ranted and raved about last night’s season premiere of LOST. Missed it? Watch it here on ABC.com and catch up.

Here’s what else going on in nerd news around the Web:

Doodle on. Google announced today via its blog that the company will host the third edition of its annual Google 4 Doodle contest. This year’s theme is “If I Could Do Anything, I Would…” and kids in grades K-12 are eligible to compete. Go to the official competition website for all the rules, and make sure that your child’s school is registered by March 17. Entries are accepted until March 31. The winner will have their art displayed on Google.com on May 27, and receive a $15,000 college scholarship, a laptop computer and a $25,000 technology grant for their school.

We can have it all. Skype announced plans to release a new iPhone 3G-ready app “really soon.” Via the LA Times: “David Ponsford, the leader of Skype’s iPhone team, said the app would have “CD-quality sound” for calls between Skype users.”

Apple a day keeps the textbooks away. Or something like that. The Wall Street Journal is reporting that major text book publishers are striking deals with E-Ink company ScrollMotion Inc. to develop their books for the screen – specifically Apple’s new iPad.

Kill Bill 3? It’s possible, according to Daryl Hannah, who hinted at a trilogy to MTV. “Think about it. There’s always been a tradition of blind samurai, and you never actually saw [my character] expire in the other film,” she said.

Watchmen 2? Also possible. Bleeding Cool talks of DC Comics Publisher and President Paul Levit, who was the apparent hitch in any plans to a sequel. But now that Levit is stepping down, that leaves the door wide open for a possible second film, right? Right.

More sci-fi for the CW. Apparently CW execs have ordered a new sci-fi pilot, Betwixt. Which according to EW is about “urban-based ‘changelings’ who are responsible for saving humans from evil.”

Hear ye, Hear ye. The series finale of LOST will air on Sunday, May 23 (The birthday of yours truly). The announcement came from the show’s executive producers last night on Jimmy Kimmel Live.
