Today in Techland: Valentine’s Day sucks, but if you must, here are some things to do that won’t. Peter gave Bio Shock 2 an 8/10 in his review and found himself needing a night light. Steve delivered his diagnosis of the terminally ill Spider-Man franchise if Peter Parker turns into just another pretty face, and Hey! Lev’s back!

The company is hoping roll out the tech sometime in the next few years, and says that it’s shooting for 6,000-some language reference base. Who? Sci-fi scribe Neil Gaiman (Stardust, Coraline) will pen an episode of the British show Doctor Who in 2011, he tells SFX Magazine. Too bad we’ll have to wait 14 months…

Your daily dinosaur:

Netflix upgrade: CNET is reporting that sometime in the next year Netflix will begin 1080p streaming with 5.1 surround sound, but there’s still no word on how much more bandwidth would be required? [UPDATE: CNET is now retracting the Netflix upgrade. Apparently, Netflix will bring 5.1 surround and closed captioning to its HD video streams, but 1080p Watch Instantly just isn’t in the lineup.]

Google eases up. According to the Wall Street Journal, Google has reduced the termination fee for its Nexus One from $350 to $150, no doubt to entice more buyers.
