Things I Didn’t Know Existed Until Today: ZoomIt

Welcome to another edition of “Things I Didn’t Know Existed Until Today.” This week I’m taking a look at the ZoomMediaPlus zoomIt app-enabled accessory for the iPhone/iPod Touch. It’s similar to the AirStash, but streams content directly off a plugged in SD card. This is exactly what I’ve been waiting for, people!

A variety of content including photos, videos, spreadsheets and music stored on an SD card can be accessed via the free zoomIt app. Said content can be moved off the SD card directly onto your iPhone or iPod Touch and vice versa. For example, photos taken on your digital camera can be moved to your Camera Roll without ever having to use a computer. ZoomIt also allows users to share photos and other media via Facebook, Flickr and e-mail. There seems to be one caveat in the app, though. It doesn’t appear to support the iPhone’s video camera.

ZoomMediaPlus expects the accessory to ship in April and is currently taking pre-orders for $59.95.
