Today in Techland: Peter let us in on his initial thoughts of Blackberry’s Twitter app, (Hint: He didn’t love it.) Douglas brought us inside the fiftieth issue of Brian Wood and Riccardo Burchielli’s series DMZ, and Gary showed us the new God of War lll trailer.
And of course, in due festive fashion, we brought you little nuggets of love just in time for everyone’s least favorite holiday. Peter checked out the easiest way to stalk someone. Hello, boys. Voting for Barbie’s next career path has closed and nearly half a million chimed in. Next up for the blond bombshell? Computer engineering. Barbie is a geek! (Go ahead, drool.)
Vin Diesel still thinks he’s an actor. Aw, that’s cute. And he’s not the only one. Diesel and director David Twohy are set to work on another Chronicles of Riddick. No word on a release date.
Mmm, brains. Zombieland scribes Rhett Reese and Paul Wernickare still crossing their bloody fingers for a Zombieland TV series. (The script actually began as a pilot.) Says Reese: “We always thought [it should be a TV series]. If you watch the movie with that in mind, you will see some remnants of the television show. We have the ‘Zombie Kill of the Week,’ which was always intended to happen every week. The movie ends on a cliffhanger; it doesn’t have a real resolution. [The movie’s ending] is just our guys driving off into the sunset for some new adventures. That’s because, that’s how the television pilot ended.”
Rush to the theater, folks. The Hollywood Report says that Warner Bros. will shorten the run of the upcoming Guardians of Ga’hoole in theaters in order to accelerate a DVD release. The 3D animated feature, set for release on Sept. 24, is limiting its theatrical run to 86 days, chopping about a month off of the average cinema run.

Bye, bye Buzz. Google says it might offer its new Buzz feature separately from Gmail to maximize its usership and to address serious privacy concerns brought up by users. A good call, if you ask us.
Break out the saltshaker: Word on the blogosphere is that Amazon will soon equip Amazon Prime members with a free Kindle. This doesn’t have anything to do with the iPad, right?
The right thing to do? Google promptly removed the graphic video of now-deceased Olympic luge athlete Nodar Kumaritashvili crashing into a pole – a crash that ended his life – from YouTube.
Says Google spokesman Scott Rubin: “We approach each video individually, and we do not prescreen content. Instead, we count on our community members to know the Guidelines and to flag videos they think violate them. We review all flagged videos quickly, and if we find that a video does break the rules, we remove it, usually in under an hour.” In this case it was the International Olympic Committee who sought to remove the video claiming copyright infringement.
