Borderlands Opens Up “Secret Armory” This Week

Borderlands reloads with new downloadable content this week. The Secret Armory of General Knoxx is the third add-on pack for Gearbox’s post-apocalyptic FPS and raises the game’s level cap to 61. Gearbox billed their game as a role-playing shooter when it came out and all the loot the FPS throws at you makes it the video game equivalent of Hoarders. With the General Knox DLC, players will get more than 30 new enemy types, new vehicles, a fresh infusion of ultra-rare weapons and a continuation of the main story. It’s a safe bet that the sheer addictiveness of the co-op shooting experience probably won’t be letting up anytime soon. Time for you and your crew to synchronize those sick days again.

The Secret Armory of General Knoxx hits Xbox Live Tuesday Feb. 23 (that’s today!) and will debut on Playstation Network on Thursday Feb. 25.

Damn I wish I could get to Live through Time’s effing firewall.

Borderlands is getting totally shafted in the awards season for daring to mix genres — it’s not a true RPG or a true shooter, and it’s getting shut out in both categories. But it’s game of the year IMHO.
