Warner Bros. Acquires Majority Stake In Batman: Arkham Asylum Dev

In a not so surprising move, Warner Bros. announced this morning that they’ve acquired a majority stake in London-based Rocksteady Studios. The same studio that produced last year’s massively popular hit, Batman: Arkham Asylum. While WB did not divulge how much of the studio it acquired, Eidos revealed to Develop that they retain a 25.1% stake in the studio.

A few other nuggets worth mentioning from the press release include news that Snowblind Studios’ first in a string of The Lord of the Rings games will be released in 2011. Two of Midway’s acquired developers are hard at work on a Mortal Kombat title along with other “key properties.”
