Another Battlestar Galactica Spinoff in the Works at Syfy?

Apparently, Syfy’s not done spinning its BSG web.

Syfy exec Mark Stern told The Hollywood Reporter that the network plans to order yet another Battlestar spinoff series, saying:

“We’re looking for other ways to spin off Battlestar beyond Caprica. That world is so rich. We’re sitting down with (executive producer) Ron Moore and his team. It would not necessarily be a traditional series.”

He also told THR that the odds of Caprica’s renewal for a second season was hopeful, noting that ratings have hit a series high with 1.6 million viewers.

It certainly sounds like Syfy has quite a bit up their sleeves, and the BSG train isn’t showing signs of stopping. Will you watch yet another spinoff?

It depends. If it’s in the past, no. If it’s about angels, no. If it’s another ship that survived, yes. If Baltar dies on Earth and wakes up as a cylon on another ship, definitely.

Based on the current attempt, no, never, nada, don’t care.
They need a strike-team of geeks and a thousand monkeys on typewriters to make Craprica better than it is.
I don’t think they can figure it out. As long as they stayed close to the plot of the original show, it was great. But when they strayed, and really looked at the political and metaphysical, they lost me (and many, many others I am sure).
No offense to those of you who love this show. I…just…don’t.
