This weekend brought us details of a few of the most talked about upcoming sequels. Because we love you, we’re breaking the news down in easy-to-digest bits. Bon appetit:

Dr. Horrible 2:

In an interview with MTV, Horrible star Neil Patrick Harris let it out that the sequel to Joss Whedon’s Web musical will most likely be a feature film.

“You don’t want to necessarily make the feature film be an $80 million giant movie, because it defeats the purpose of what the first film was made to be. Then again, you don’t want it to be so low-brow that it’s not worth paying money to see as a movie.”

He also mentioned that a filming date is still unknown due to the busy schedules of all involved – including Felicia Day. Is Penny really back from the dead? Hope so.

Transformers 3:

Even after the disastrous success that was Trannies, Too, Michael Bay presses on. Transformers star Josh Duhamel confirmed that he’s read the script for the third film and while he was pretty tight lipped about details, he did say this:

“They put a lot of time and thought into this. What I think is really cool is they really went back into the history of the Transformers and they really didn’t make anything up. They’re using stuff that actually existed in the story from before.”

Hmm. What could it mean?

Pirates 4:

Producer Jerry Bruckheimer let loose some details of the upcoming Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides. Starring along side Johnny Depp will be Ian McShane (Deadwood) as Blackbeard and the lovely Penelope Cruz as Blackbeard’s daughter. Says Bruckheimer:

“And a little romance between Captain Jack and the character Penelope plays. There’s a lot of humor, she brings a lot of humor to it. And the fact that she’s so feisty.”

Bruckheimer also said the plot is a continuation of the third film in that Captain Sparrow is still searching for the Fountain of Youth.
