Here’s What the Kindle App for iPad Looks Like

We’re less than two weeks out from the iPad launch, so it’s no surprise that a plethora of companies have begun revealing tidbits about their respective apps. Late last night Amazon did just that by announcing the “Kindle Apps for tablet computers including the iPad”. You’ll be able to view your library of e-books in one of two ways including the above (or below) layout with extra large icons for books. The sun’s position will change in the background based on time. Riveting stuff, people. Riveting.

Sidenote: The New York Times is reporting that 14 B&N developers have been in hiding since January feverishly working on a revamped version of their iPhone app for the Kindle.

Did you know there are some pretty descent apps with 100s classic books available for free right now?
I just don’t see paying ~$10 for a book you can get for $0.50 at a garage sale or a few bucks (even less used) in paperback now.
But there are good arguments to have it for new books so you can carry several on vacation, but if I leave it somewhere by accident or a passing wave hits it, replacing a paperback is much better than an ipad. (And there are plenty of classics I have not read yet)
