Swag of the Day: God of War III Kratos Sweatshirts [Update]

Case of the Mondays? Well, we’ve got some free stuff to give away to cheer you up. On this dreary Monday, we have two XL zip-up Kratos hoodies. I’m currently locked out of my office, so I can’t snap any pics of the actual sweatshirts but I can describe them to you – heather grey with Kratos’ red war paint or whatever it is along the left side. Want one? Leave a comment with any thoughts you have about the franchise or tell us what you would have changed about III and we’ll pick two random winners on Wednesday at 12PM ET.

Update: And here are the photos I promised.

Love the God of War Franchise bought the first one on release day and have never looked back.

I think if there was anything that I would like to change about the God Of War Franchise would be to make the final bosses as epic as the first ones always are. It seems like the final boss battle always get less attention. Like hades was basically just standard hack and slash same thing with zeus from 2 and same thing with zeus from 3. Where as battling poseidon/Hydra/the giant statue/Chronos all seemed to be just epic battles.

Love the GOW franchise. I’ve been hooked ever since I played the first on way back on the PS2. Course its a hack n slash but its one of the few series that managed to do it right every time.

I played through God of War III in a ‘gaming binge’ of three days and was blown away by the graphics, the gore, the story and the epic battle scenes.

I’m now about to start playing back through time with part 1 and 2. God of War III was my first encounter with the franchise and it’s made me (blood)thirsty for more.

By the gods this franchise is the best. Been a fan since day one of GoW. I even went out for the Spike show Last Titan Standing I am such a fan. I was on it too. Guy with sun glasses on the whole show.

If I had to change anything about GoW3, it would be the addition of a few more gods into the line up to have to take down. There are so many more Gods and Titans he could have taken on, which would have made the game a bit longer and challenging. Might even have made the story a bit more epic. Not that it needed any help with that, but more can sometimes be better.

Been a fan of the series since the beginning. Played the first one my freshman year of college and let basically my entire dorm borrow and beat the game. The second game came out a week before my finals junior year, so I played the game straight through until I beat it so it wouldn’t interfere with my studying. GOW III was released during my Law School spring break and again I beat the game quick so I could get down to studying. I also picked a PS3 for the sole purpose of playing GOW III. Unfortunately, although it was good, GOW III was easily the weakest of the three titles. One and two both ended with a bang: Kratos becoming the GOW and in II Kratos learning Zeus is his father and climbing Olympus with the Titans to burn it to the ground. The end of III was heavy handed and boring. In addition, Kratos getting thrown down into Hades and losing his powers yet again took the wind out of the whole game, after an awesome opening boss battle. Why not power up the Gods instead of powering down Kratos? Beating Zeus was also nowhere near as awesome as battling Ares in the first game. Love the series but disappointed with the finally.

They are doing it right, again. Though it’s hard to repeat the way the first 2 did, they still do a pretty good job at it, even though it can never be that different being the style of ground and pound that the game is.

Kratos is one angry dude. If he was any more angry, Hulk would sue over the copywrite infringement.

Since I can’t get my parents (!) to sell me their PS3, I’ll have to move back into their basement so I can play this game more. I wonder what my wife will say.

My boyfriend bought the God of War I and II as the pack and I fell in love with the game. I myself cannot play video games very well but I love to watch him play! I feel like I am that girl from the PS3 commercial who thinks that she is watching a movie with her boyfriend while he is actually playing a video game with great graphics! I love how the story progresses, as I have always been a fan of Greek and Roman mythology. Once III came out, we both had to have it! Love this game & love the graphics!

Finished GoW3 last night and I’m really happy with the way they concluded the story arc from the first two games.

I just wish that the combat/dodging was a bit more like Bayonetta. Visually though there is nothing that will be able to compare, improve on, or best GoW 3 for a long long time in the 3rd person action genre.

Haven’t played any of the “console” versions of GoW, only the PSP version but I thought it was very fun. I have really been thinking that I should check out the box set then jump to the “next gen” version…..just need to get around to it

I recently got GOW Collection a month or two ago to see what the hype was all about… I have to say that no PS2 game has ever made me appreciate a good story with intense action like GOW 1 and 2 did. GOW3? Do I even have to say anything? We all know it’s amazing lol

The GoW franchise, where to being.
From the first FMV of Gow1 I was drawn in. I wanted to know why this Pale man was throwing himself off the cliff. I soon figured there was A LOT more to this game besides the brutal epicness that made GOW what is was. I started to care about Kratos more and more as the series went on. The made him seem more human in each game. Everyone (besides true fans) picture Kratos as a guy who just wants to kill everything and everything.

I picture Kratos as the man with nothing to lose. All he wants to do is get his revenge, and nothing is going to get in his way of his goal. Not even death.

If I could change something about God of War III it would be the ending. That cliff-hanger ending.
That is all I would change.

I own the original versions of GoW and GoWII ( not greatest hit) and GoW Collection plus GoW III and Chains of Olympus. Even bought the Kratos PSP :)

To be honest, I’m new to the GoW franchise, but seeing how highly addictive it is for veteran gamers, I’m anxious to jump in soon!
