Dear Hollywood – You Suck: It is with great disdain that we must inform you that Warner Bros. and Legendary will be rebooting and releasing Godzilla in 2012.
#personalfailure: Battlefield Earth recently won a Razzie for “Worst Movie of the Decade” and screenwriter J.D. Shapiro admits he “penned the suckiest movie ever.” Over the weekend Shapiro attempted to explain what went wrong over at the NY Post.
“Let me start by apologizing to anyone who went to see Battlefield Earth.”
It wasn’t as I intended — promise. No one sets out to make a train wreck. Actually, comparing it to a train wreck isn’t really fair to train wrecks, because people actually want to watch those.”

Action Comics #1 sells for…: Does it even matter anymore? ComicConnect.com sold the first issue of Action Comics to “a hardcore comic book fan” today for $1.5 million, which eclipses the record set last month when Detective Comics #27 sold for $1,075,500.
And the winners are…: The winners for this years Bram Stoker Awards for horror writing have been announced, a long with news that next year we’ll see more categories, including one for graphic novels and YA. Awesome.

No they didn’t!: Ain’t it Cool News is reporting that Japanese throwback Gaiking could be hitting the big screen in 2012 with Shogun Warriors to follow up as a sequel. There’s also talk that a new comic series is forthcoming as well. Matt Gratzner and Jules Urbach are attached to the project and promise to have “life size” robots. The teaser trailer looks amazing.

Ruh roh: We just learned that shooting of Guillermo Del Toro’s The Hobbit has been pushed back, yet again. The film was expected to finally get underway this summer in New Zealand, but now we hear they won’t start filming until the end of the year. Woe is us. We also hear talk of MGM’s massive debt to be the reason behind the hold up. Suck it, Hollywood.
First glimpse of Toy Story 3 goes to college students: Students from select schools will be able to view the first 56 minutes of Disney/Pixar’s upcoming Toy Story 3 during special screenings happening around the country. Go to the official Facebook page for details.
