Wolverine: Jackman Says Sequel Is Best of the Franchise

Well, this certainly sounds like great news for all fans of the X-Men films. Hugh Jackman, in an interview with Perez Hilton, says that the script for the second Wolverine film positively blew him away – and that he’s not yet entirely sure if the movie’s going to be in 3D.

I’m going to go ahead and venture a guess that yes, the movie WILL be in 3D. And yes, it’ll probably be pretty damn sweet. Watch a video of Jackman’s comments here.

it would be tough to make a movie much worse than the first Wolverine. The things they did to Deadpool were unforgivable…

If the creative team behind the first Wolverine is behind the sequel then we’ll know immediately that its garbage.

Heh, I found the first one mildly entertaining. But then again, I didn’t expect much when I rented it.
I must have strange taste in sci-fi, because I find myself disagreeing with much of what I see posted on this site in regards to movies.

The first one was odd. It had a very strange feel to it. But I liked it. However, I think it odd that a movie title should have as many qualifiers as X-men: Origins: Wolverine 2. That’s not a title, that’s a file heading.

Of course Jackman is going to hype a movie that he is in. Why is this news?

  • gpopella

Yeah, best yet in a horrible franchise? I don’t think so. Being a Wolverine fan from comic books, I felt the first movie was about as true to the Marvel Universe as apes are to humans. It was similar, but that is about it. No worthwhile storyline, twisted characters and no dedication to the fanbase. Most of the Marvel films are a bunch of underachieving wannebe blockbusters that are all hype and leave true fans with a funny taste in their mouths. The taste of buyer’s remorse…Take a lesson from Nolan’s Batman and Wolverine would be what he should have been from the get-go. A total bad-ass and blockbuster movie of the year.

I was reading X-Men as a kid back in the 70s, the books from the early 70s and late 60s, I believe.
My (Great) Uncle was a distributer and would bring me boxes of comic books that were left on shelves and were to be disposed of (sans the covers, some sort of rule they had).
Anyhow, I was a HUGE fan of X-Men, Dare Devil, Spiderman, Justice League, Orion and the Demigods, even Richie Rich and Archie.
More than likely I would qualify as a “true fan”, bud. I did follow a few of these story lines up to date.
No, the movies didn’t follow many of the books exactly, or even close for that matter. But the movies still were not horrible. The only one I would say I didn’t like was “The last stand”.
The same with Dare Devil. They could have done better, but it was watchable. (Man, Ben Affleck as Dare Devil was very disappointing)

wolverine is one of my favorite marvel heros maybe even my favorite and even though i may not be able to be considered a true fan of it since i never watched comics and just got into it about 5 maybe 7 years ago watching the show that is now on disney xd saturday nights online and in dvds i have to say in parts i agree with other people here i mean to me almost no marvel movie is horrible and is definitly worth watching but i think there where lots of parts in x men last stand that i didnt like for expample how they killed off professor xavier and cyclops i still think it had its good parts and also think that the first wolverine movie was kinda good i mean i never heard of dead pool before marvel ultimate alliance and never played as him much so didnt really care that much when he died but as far as the movie goes they showed alot of cool mutants as well as powers and there was lots of action and some good special effects so maybe it wasnt completly true to the comics but i cant see how that makes it horrible
