Welcome to the Loadout. Our philosophy is that the working week is a recurring boss battle that you’ll need the proper weapons to take down. The supplies at hand won’t always be pretty but you might just be able to hold out until the weekend. Green means add it to your arsenal, yellow leaves it up to your discretion and red means back away slowly. With that, let’s see what we’ve got this week:

The Game: Splinter Cell Conviction

Specifications: The newest entry in Ubisoft’s stealth action series returns after a long, long wait. It’s the reason that nothing else of note is coming out this week. Conviction is quicker and more sinewy than previous Splinter Cell games and debuts a ton of new mechanics like Mark & Execute and Last Known Position that essentially re-invent the franchise.

Ideal Usage Scenario: The recent drought of stealth games has left fans of sneak-and-shoot action in the cold. You’ve been itching to find out what Sam’s been up to and he’s been away getting awesome. Step out from the shadows and pick this one up.
