The Five Things You Need to Know Before Seeing Kick-Ass

Only a couple days left, until Kick-Ass mania finally descends on unsuspecting movie fans. We’ve written plenty about the film – from our interview with Mark Millar himself to our spoiler-free review around the time of the film’s world premiere at South By Southwest – and we have interviews with the cast going up this week as well.

But our non-comic-obsessed colleagues over at TIME happened to ask us about just what the heck this Kick-Ass thing is all about. So we did them one better, and made them a little video primer: The five things you need to know about Kick-Ass.

For anyone gearing up for opening night, click on the player above for our spoiler-free sneak peek.

I’m gonna have to endure a whole summer’s worth of chick flicks in exchange for the wifey going to see this one movie with me. One question: is it worth it?

  • Caitlin Rosberg

Ok…having read the book quite a few times, that was not exactly spoiler-free. Good try, though.

Yeah, unless they structure the movie differently from the book, that’s a fair sized spoiler right there in the middle.

And why the frak do they put commercials in these trailers. News flash, morons, the trailer IS a commercial.

@grape it’s totally worth it. I plan on seeing it again and again.

@caitlin @church the movie is basically structured around the book, but they’ve tweaked a few key elements. Steve didn’t touch on any of them except for the one thing in the middle. They do, however, loop the elements that were changed into the story somewhere else. It worked out pretty well, IMO.

WOW that was not spoiler free at all.
