Behind the Hack: How 4Chan Gamed the Time 100

Yeah, last year’s Time 100 poll was an interesting venture here in the office, most notably because we discovered we were had. Followers of 4Chan founder Moot, aka Christopher Poole, manipulated the votes using a special coding and then continued to deliver a message using the first letters of the names in the poll. We won’t tell you what Marblecake actually means (Google it, but don’t say we didn’t warn you) but we can say that having Moot back in the office to talk about what went down yielded some really entertaining results.
