15 Geeky Tattoos We Love

If you’ve seen an episode of the Techland show then you’ve probably seen one or two of my tattoos. In case you didn’t know it, I like them. A lot.

Having a tattoo once meant you were a lowlife or ex-con. While some folks still think that way about them, it’s not as taboo as it once was. I still get a few looks around town and in the office when I wear t-shirt. It’s not something I think about, really. Tattoos are art. My mother thinks otherwise, but I still have them and love them.

Often times someone will ask me why I have tattoos. I don’t really have a specific reason, but each one of my tattoos has significance and a back-story. I didn’t get my first one because I thought it was cool or anything. I mean, my tattoos are cool but I could care less if anyone else thinks so. They’re my own and meant only for me. I wear t-shirts more often than not because I overheat easily, not because I’m trying to show off.

Ask any one of my friends and they’ll all tell you that I’m pretty critical of tattoos and tattoo artists. See, I have a really bad tattoo. The concept was sound but the execution on the part of the ink slinger in my college town was less than perfect. I don’t want my friends to make the same mistake that I did. Always check an artist’s line work. Look at their portfolio. Ask questions. You are, after all, paying them.

Don’t ever go to a tattoo shop that sells glassware or other crap. I go to a tattoo shop to get a tattoo. I don’t go to tattoo shops to buy a pipe or get pierced, but that’s just me.

I could go on and on, but I won’t. I was just going through my latest web gem and thought I’d share a few cool and geeky tattoos. That’s not to say I think these are perfect or exceptional, but this was an easy way for me to write about tattoos on Techland.
