Apple Sells 1 Million iPads

In just 28 days, Apple has sold over 1 million iPads. It took 74 days for Apple to sell the miniature version known as the iPhone. “Demand continues to exceed supply and we’re working hard to get this magical product into the hands of even more customers,” said Steve Jobs. 12 million apps and 1.5 million ebooks have been downloaded by iPad users since its April 3 launch.

I tried picking up an iPad over the weekend and all Apple stores in Manhattan were sold out, so I guess demand is strong. But how well will it sell next month or the month after in the US?

Why do they continue to use the term magical? People laughed when Jobs first said it, but then they kept sticking it everywhere else. And Jobs has to use the word in every interview? I want one of these a lot, and I love Apple products, but it’s effing annoying.

Couldn’t agree more. I giggled during the iPad press conference.
