Gateway has expanded its line of NV-series notebooks with the NV59, a 15.6-inch machine starting at $630 and decked out with an Intel Core i3 or i5 processor (depending upon the configuration), optional Blu-ray (staring at $800) and featuring a series-wide “integrated ‘social networking’ button that allows customers to access their social networks, including Facebook, YouTube and Flickr, with a single touch of a button,” according to the company’s press release.
The first available model in the series—the NV59C09u—is selling now for $800. Features include a 15.6-inch 1366×768 LED-backlit screen, 2.13GHz Intel Core i3 CPU, Windows 7 Home Premium, 4GB of RAM, 320GB hard drive, and Blu-ray drive. The machine includes a six-cell battery for up to 4.5 hours of battery life and weighs in at 5.72 pounds.
