Android Gingerbread Slated For Q4 2010

Google’s official announcement of Android 2.2 (Froyo) is likely slated to be the big thing today at I/O (that or Smart TV). But even before Froyo is officially unveiled, we now know when Gingerbread (build # unknown) will likely launch and what platform(s) will support it. Launch dates can always be shifted around and platform support can also change. For now, though, we know that Google plans to release Gingerbread in Q4 of 2010.

Sidenote: This is pretty damn amazing. Doesn’t the voice over actor sound familiar?

Trying to Be Optimistic About a Google Music-Streaming System

The Wall Street Journal’s Amir Efrati and Ethan Smith are reporting that Google is working on a consumer-electronics system designed to stream music–and, eventually, maybe video and other media–around the home. Absent more details, there are several ways to respond to this sketchy bit of news.
