I remember someone noted that Vandal Savage was the only person Batman feared. Can anyone confirm this? If so, why?

Anyhow, with that thought and how Morrison loves to tie in obscure continuity and trivia, I'm wondering if Savage's appearances (and possible future appearances. Pun!) is touching on that. Or is Savage just a good go-to time spanning villain? I know it's the latter, but I'm very intrigued if it's the former.

There's probably more to it but it seems like Darkseid has at least hitched a ride back into existence with Batman.

The end of Final Crisis reminds me of the end of Invisibles. When the King of All Tears says "AM KING OF THIZZ AEON" and King Mob is like 'WHAT THE ONE WE JUST ENDED?' POP! Darkseid has a similar goal - he corrupts all of existence, turns it all into him. And Superman's like, fine you can have it, we're going to the next place and you can't come along.

But now Batman and Darkseid are linked by bullets, blood and myth so it looks like the Fifth World may have to deal with evil gods too. Fortunately Bruce as Archivist says "YOU'LL ALL JUST HAVE TO TRUST ME." Which I do.
