Touchscreen universal remotes can cost hundreds of dollars, but you can turn your hundreds-of-dollars iPhone or iPod Touch into a fancy touchscreen universal remote for an additional $70.
ThinkGeek is now selling the new(ish) i-Got-Control iPhone Universal Remote. It consists of an IR adapter that plugs into the dock port on the bottom of your iPhone and a downloadable app provides the interface along with compatibility with thousands of AV devices.
If one of your devices isn’t available in the built-in database, you can “create your own codes by ‘teaching’ them from your original remote,” according to the product description.
