I suspect that this movie is going to be delayed and litigated into oblivion. Maybe Jackson will come back on board as the director now? That would be best case scenario but not very likely. Hopefully the actors are all committed to the project enough that they’ll still be available when it finally does get the green light. Hopefully Viggo won’t be as old as Ian McKellan is now when it does.

I read this earlier and was very upset. I was very much looking forward to seeing Del Toro’s vision of Middle Earth. I’m having trouble thinking of a director now that I think would be up to the task.
