Mortal Kombat Gets Punching Noir Rebirth

I have no idea what this is new video is advertising, but it’s either entirely awesome or completely ridiculous. I can’t quite decide yet.

Quite what prompted this 1990s-esque remake of the franchise is, as yet, unknown, but I suspect multiple viewings of Se7en. Still, I like the fact that the city is so corrupt that its police force can’t afford to replace lightbulbs in their interrogation rooms.

    Wow.

Man, I knew there was a “fresh” direction coming… but, um, wow. Like you, Graeme, I’m puzzled if this is the game reboot or movie reboot.

Ultimately, all I care about is freezing people and teleporting. But this has “trying too hard” all over it. And what is up with WBIE doing these cheesy live action promos for games?

Woah! They’re trying to make MK more real and gritty. WTF. I like that Scorpion is possibly going to be the main character. Honestly though, I’d just watch just to see how they reimagine the rest of the cast. Pretty decent cast for whatever this is.

That is way better than any of the movies they ever released. If this is going to be a movie I’ll watch it but my guess is that this is a teaser for a new video game.

    Twitter explains all:
RT @JeriLRyan It’s not a game trailer. Actually was made for the director to sell WB on his vision for a reimagined MK film.
