Okay, we haven’t been shy around here about our love for Mega Shark Vs. Giant Octopus – the schlocky underwater monster thriller that ends in a flurry of mutually assured aquatic destruction.
It’s a brilliant bit of pulp. But it has nothing on an actual shark vs. octopus duel – which I found the other day on Youtube. Posted by National Geographic, I found the whole thing riveting.

Yes, it was posted three years ago, and yes it’s already been seen by millions of people. But I didn’t see it until last night, and I haven’t stopped talking about since. So yeah, the octopus just DECIMATES that shark, and my favorite moment comes right at the end, when the narrator says there was a whole slew of dead sharks that were found at the bottom of tank.
Scientists couldn’t figure out what the heck was going on…so consider these new words to live by: Beware the squid.
Maybe we should sic a couple of them on this pesky oil spill. They’d hatch a plan right quick.
