Google is convinced that there is a Dunkin' Donuts in a little residential community near my brother's place in West Chester, PA. I went out one morning to bring back doughnuts for everybody, assuring them that my Droid could direct me. (Incidentally, Chrome's spellcheck just highlighted "Droid.")

And instead, I was gone for an hour, after being misdirected to some dude's house in a cul-de-sac - right address and everything - but I didn't go up to his front door and demand doughnuts. Tacky.

I then got pretty determined - "Doughnuts or death" sorta thing - and it took me an hour to drive to the nearest Dunkin' and back. (Well, okay, it shouldn't have taken that long, but then I turned off the GPS thing and figured I could make it on my own. Instead, I got hopelessly lost and then gave in half an hour later. So it should have taken only like 20 minutes.)

In one month last fall, I clocked five errors serious enough to make me uncomfortable relying on Google Maps. One was egregious but understandable (my mother's house/fishing resort in the far rural areas was said to be about twenty five miles away; heaven help the customer that relies on Google). The others were occasions where I ended up driving around for twenty minutes before I finally called the destination for help, only to find that they were a couple of miles away and Google just got it wrong.

In a couple of those cases, I went back to the web to try to debug the problem and figured it out: Google Maps gave me bad directions. No mistyping, mispelling or confusing address. Google Maps is simply unreliable. Weird and painful, if you ask me.
