Origins: Chris Roberson

What are you working on now?

At the moment, I’m working on my creator-owned series with Mike Allred for Vertigo, iZombie, the first issue of which came out last month. It’s about a zombie girl detective and her friends in the far-flung land of Eugene, Oregon.

And I’m busy working on the next scripts for Dust to Dust, the prequel to Philip K. Dick’s Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? that Boom! Studios is publishing. The chance to write a prequel to one of the best-known novels by one of the twentieth century’s greatest writers was irresistible, but also more than a little intimidating. In the end, I decided that the only way to do it justice was simply to write my own story set in that same world, rather than trying to reinvent the wheel that was PKD’s original novel. It’s been a lot of fun to work on, and the response to the first issue has so far been good. Now I’m working hard to make sure that the rest of the story doesn’t disappoint!

Here’s an exclusive preview of Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?: Dust to Dust #2, by Chris Roberson and Robert Adler.

Review: Soulo Converts iPad into Karaoke Machine

Karaoke lovers typically fall into two categories: Those who enjoy it, and those whose arms have to be twisted to get up and sing in public. Enter Soulo, a software and microphone kit that can turn an iPad or other Apple device into a karaoke machine. It gives you instant karaoke in the privacy of your own home, or wherever you carry your Apple gadgets. That’s the idea, anyway.
