The Hollywood Reporter tells us that Syfy has just cast 80s pop stars Debbie Gibson and Tiffany in one of its Saturday night creature flicks.
That’s right, upcoming movie Mega Python vs. Gatoroid will pit the two ex-music chart rivals against each other, who are, surprisingly not strangers to creature features. Gibson starred in Mega Shark vs. Giant Octopus in 2009, while Tiffany starred in April’s Mega Piranha.

According to THR, the script will pit the two against each other, a play on their old rivalry. “Gibson will play a fanatical animal-rights activist who frees illegally imported exotic snakes from pet stores, sending them into the Everglades, where they grow to mega sizes. Tiffany will play an overzealous park ranger who uses dangerous methods to save endangered alligators.”
Mega Shark vs. Giant Octopus will start production next month and air sometime in 2011. Oh goody.
