Publicity Stunt Of The Day: Robert Pattinson Is Related To Dracula

Today, “news” broke that Twilight actor Robert Pattinson is related to … wait for it … Vlad the impaler.

I hate you, world.

According to what I’m sure are very “reputable sources,” Pattinson, who plays Twilight‘s very sparkly vampire Edward Cullen, is distantly related to Transylvania’s Vlad the impaler, who was the original inspiration for Bram Stoker’s Dracula. Website Ancestry.co.uk unearthed the discovery after stalking sifting through Pattinson’s family tree only to discover that he shares a connection with Vlad through a distant relation to Britain’s Royal Family.

“Now it has been discovered that US born Pattinson is a distant cousin of Princes William and Harry on Prince Charles’ side, through the Pickering family who lived in Yorkshire in the early 1500s, making Vlad a distant uncle of the two princes,” reports the Telegraph. The Telegraph is also reporting that Twilight author Stephanie Meyer is also distantly related to the Royals, making her a relative of Vlad’s as well.

Oh, barf.

Can’t we perform hereditary justice on the two of them? Make them pay for Vlad’s wrongs by pushing stakes through their hearts and nomming bread soaked with their blood as they die in agony?
