Do you own the Google-backed Nexus One smartphone? Then you, my friend, will get the Google-backed Android 2.2 software very soon. It’s currently rolling out to Nexus One handsets via an over-the-air update.

Per Google, “In order to access the update, you will receive a message on your phone’s notification bar. Just download the update, wait for it to install, and you should be all set. This update will be rolled out gradually to phones – and most users will receive the notification by the end of the week.”

Check out the above video to see what you’ll be getting with the new software or swing by the platform highlights page. You’ll get speedier performance, Flash support, SD card app installation, and much more. The Android 2.2 update is expected to roll out to other phones throughout the summer.
