Ducati Multistrada Takes Pikes Peak, Whole Thing Documented With iPhone 4s

Ducati’s recently revamped dual-sport Multistrada is a site to behold. Having seen one in person, I can honestly say that it’s a gorgeous machine. I’m partial to Ducati’s, sure, but the Multistrada is a technological marvel, giving owners four-bikes-in-one. With a Multistrada, you can switch between Sport, Touring, Urban or Enduro modes with the click of a button. Each mode adjusts power, torque, suspension and traction control. And the Testastretta 11° engine puts out 150HP and sounds exactly like a Ducati should.

So, why am I writing about a motorcycle? Other than the fact that I just got one myself, a stock Multistrada 1200 S finished first in the 88th annual Pikes Peak International Hill Climb competition in Colorado Springs, CO on Sunday. And the whole thing was documented with a handful of iPhone 4s. According to the production team, the only adjustments made were the addition of Owle Bubo mounts for stabilization and no color correction.

When asked whether or not “156 Turns” was edited in iMovie, the production team had this to say:

No, we had way more footage than a 32GB iPhone could handle. We had 8 phones over 4 days and grabbed a lot of footage. We thought about editing in iMovie, but there were enough unknowns as it was. Thanks for watching and sharing!

Congrats to Ducati on the win and the production team for making one kick-ass short.
