The international trailer for Matt Reeves’ (Cloverfield) Let Me In dropped this week, giving us a glimpse into the film, a remake of the 2008 Swedish film Let The Right One In. The original being as adored as it was, Reeves’ remake has been met with hostility by some fans. (Understandable, considering Hollywood produces so little original material anymore.) That said, the trailer looks gritty and artful, and if the trailer can’t reel you in, Kick-Ass‘ Chloe Moretz just might.

As vampire-child Abby, (I wish they would have at least stuck with the name Eli) Moretz is the most promising thing about the film. My desire to see the film is completely shadowed by my desire to see another amazing performance from this little girl. The Road‘s Kodi Smit-McPhee also stars in the film as Owen, the young boy mercilessly tortured by boys from school.

Let Me In hits theaters Oct,. 1.
