Steven, I love your enthusiasm and your take on the film, but this is FULL of SPOILERS! I've seen the film, I worked on the film, I know what Mr. Nolan has and has not been revealing to viewers and you put TONS of juicy stuff in here! Which is fine if that's what you want to do but take down the part where you're telling people no spoilers and nothing juicy. For instance everything about Marion is totally new and spoiler-y info to people who haven't seen the film, and talking about the different levels and dreams within dreams--those are things people should find out as they watch the film. I've already seen it once and I still had to stop reading this piece because it was ruining the experience I know I'm going to have the next time I see it! So just warn people, spoilers ahead! Don't rob them of the chance to experience what you did :)

Oh, no. You mean it'll require people to THINK!? That means I'll love it, all my fellow SF fans will love it, and the vast movie-going public will stay away in droves, waiting for the next brainless blow-em-up, destroy-their-eardrums, check-out-this-cleavage installment of Transformers. And Hollywood will learn the wrong lesson again.

A thinking person's movie CAN make money, but not if you're writing out 8-digit checks for special effects. (It's good that you mentioned Memento, a marvelous example of how to do cerebral without being extravagant.)

I'm still waiting patiently for this movie. Its out just in time for my b-day.

I'm hoping its enjoyable for most people, but I'd also be fine with being one of a few who really enjoyed it. I'm glad that, from what you've said, its only tangentially anything like The Matrix.
