Welcome to what may be the most popular panel at this year’s Comic-Con in San Diego: The LA Times is reporting a rumor that Entertainment Weekly has managed to pair JJ Abrams and Joss Whedon for what is sure to be an hour of comedy, storytelling masterclass and maybe, finally, an official confirmation that Whedon is directing Marvel’s Avengers movie. If it turns out to be true – and the official schedule for the con is due very soon, so we shouldn’t have long to wait – then the line may start any day now. Hope you brought your sleeping bag.
