Capcom Reveals Box Art and New Website for Dead Rising 2

The sequel to Capcom’s zombie-killing action title’s been pushed back to September, but the Japanese company’s still releasing tidbits about the game.

First up is an unveiling of the Dead Rising 2 box art, which shows hero Chuck Green elbow-deep in zombies with a chainsaw paddle. While murderous and clever, the chainsaw paddle wasn’t my favorite of the duct-taped weapons from DR2.

The other bit of DR2 news is the launch of TapeItorDie.com, a quasi-viral marketing site. (I think the name is either a reference to Chuck’s method of improvised weapon creation or a riff on the Ringu series of Japanese horror films.) The four “blogger” characters on the site seem to be fans that are focused on the Terror Is Reality game show. That show is the setting for the insane competitions in Dead Rising 2’s multiplayer versus modes; I had some hands-on time with them last year and they are gory, over-the-top and fun. You’ll be rolling around in giant hamster-balls and squishing zombies or slapping blender-helmets on their heads and running back to activate a button that then liquefies their faces. Like I said, crazy.

TapeItorDie.com seems to be having a few issues today, but Capcom promises that they’ll be unveiling exclusive news about their upcoming zombie killfest on the site in coming weeks.
