Windows Phone Live: Remote Wipe, Syncing For Windows Phone 7

Microsoft’s annual Worldwide Partnership Conference is in full swing in our nation’s capital and Andy Lees, Microsoft’s Sr. VP of Mobile Communications, will formally announce Windows Phone Live today. The free service for any Windows Phone 7 user is an online portal that lets you remotely wipe a WP7 device should it ever be lost or stolen. Content from your mobile device or PC will also be synced and viewable from the service including photos, OneNote files, contacts and calendars. Sounds a lot like KIN, doesn’t it? You’ll even get 25GB of room on SkyDrive.

Availability for Microsoft’s revamped mobile platform is still set for the holiday timeframe but we now know that WP7 will support five languages at launch: English, Spanish, German, Italian and French. The following 17 countries will be privy to buying and selling of apps in the Windows Phone Marketplace: Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, France, Germany, Hong Kong, India, Ireland, Italy, Mexico, New Zealand, Singapore, Spain, Switzerland, UK and United States.
