Is It Just Us, Or Is Twitter’s First @earlybird Deal Pretty Lame?

Last week Twitter announced @earlybird, a promo stream for the company’s advertising partners. The account will dole out exclusive deals to its followers, as given by said ad partners and deal sites Groupon and Gilt. The first deal was announced this morning and after all the talk, frankly, it was a bit of a let down. The offer, good at all Fandango-serviced theaters, gives out an access code for a buy one, get one free deal to see Disney’s The Sorcerer’s Apprentice, which hit theaters today. Not the world’s worst deal, but with all of the “amazing deals!” hype, we thought they could at least throw in a free bucket of popcorn.

Maybe we’ll go buy that iron gym on Woot instead…
