With the final movies in their deal with Paramount already in various stages of production (Or, in The Avengers’ case, advanced pre-production), Marvel Studios are rumored to be rushing their first Disney-distributed movie towards shooting early next year. That movie? The big-screen version of Brian K. Vaughan’s Runaways.

Production Weekly announced yesterday that Marvel is planning a January-July 2011 shoot for the movie, based on the comic about a group of teenagers who discover that their parents are actually members of a secret society trying to take over the world. Created by Y The Last Man creator (and later, Lost screenwriter) Vaughan, the series was later written by Joss Whedon before being canceled mid-storyline last year. It’s already been revealed that Peter Sollett (Nick and Nora’s Infinite Playlist) will direct, from a script by British writer Drew Pearce (No Heroics). No casting has been officially announced as yet, although Weeds‘ Allie Grant may be involved if this surreal leak is in any way accurate.

An official announcement at next week’s San Diego Comic-Con is expected.
