Thor Movie Teaser Leaks

Man, the only thing I can say is that these five minutes go a long way to assuaging the concerns I had about Kenneth Branagh’s adaptation. Head over to Screened for a whole lot of awesome.

Enjoy it while you can, kids.

Review: Soulo Converts iPad into Karaoke Machine

Karaoke lovers typically fall into two categories: Those who enjoy it, and those whose arms have to be twisted to get up and sing in public. Enter Soulo, a software and microphone kit that can turn an iPad or other Apple device into a karaoke machine. It gives you instant karaoke in the privacy of your own home, or wherever you carry your Apple gadgets. That’s the idea, anyway.

Hmmm. Looks better than expected but I still think that Asgard and the inhabitants’ outfits look too shiny.

To enjoy this movie, you have to disconnect nearly everything you have ever read about classic Norse Mythology (exectly like forgetting most of classic Greek Mythology when watching Disney’s Hercules with my kids). Yes, the outfits look life they are refurbished from Excaliber and somehow Odin is really old and dies(!) but this could work if you let go of traditional mythology. Still, the idea of Thor doing kung fu rather than just hitting people seems misguided.

    “Is that one of Stark’s?”
“I dunno, he never tells me anything.”

I’m beginning to love the way the MCU works.
