What is the Microsoft Hardware Team Teasing on Twitter?

The team at Microsoft who’s in charge of mice, keyboards and other peripherals has turned to Twitter to tease out an upcoming product.

We caught a glimpse of said new product on July 27 with a spliced image revealing the corner of a matte black finish peripheral. Yesterday they offered the following hint: “Don’t be so touchy…flat is where it’s at.” And earlier today they posted the following image.

Commentors seem to think it’s a multi-touch trackpad while others pontificate that it might be a new Zune HD. Doug thinks it’s a taser for one baldheaded individual at MS. Or maybe a Magic Mouse for the PC. The shiny part looks like a button, doesn’t it? But then again, they do say not to be so “touchy”. What do you think?
